Milkor USA, Inc. (MUSA) is the world’s premier provider for the 40mm Multi-Shot Grenade Launcher (MSGL). As a break off from a South African company, MUSA became a US based company marketing the 40mm MSGL out of Perry, Florida. MUSA partnered with Martin Electronics Inc. (MEI), a 40mm munitions manufacturer that provided MUSA with facilities and test ranges for the MSGL.

In 2004, MUSA contracted with Abrams Airborne Manufacturing, Inc. (AAMI) to produce components for the 40mm MSGL. Following the success of the components, the President of AAMI, Gary Abrams, was approached by the then financial supporters of MUSA and offered a majority shareholder position in the MUSA. This allowed the company to remain majority owned in the U.S.A., and continue to pursue the U.S. government for military contracts. Several iterations of MSGL’s were born out of this effort, such as the original M32 and the MK 14 MOD 0. These systems were purchased in small amounts by the U.S. DOD, for use with the USMC, and some special operations groups.

In January 2010, MUSA won the Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the United States Marine Corps. This 5 year contract was valued for up to 40 million dollars, if the entirety of the contract was fulfilled. The newly dubbed M32A1 is the product of this contract, and it’s price and configuration is controlled, via contract, by the USMC. The contract is due to expire in January 2015.

Milkor USA, Inc. looks forward to the next challenges proposed by the ultimate END-USER’s, the Marines, Soldiers, and Police on the ground. These challenges include newly developed rounds, lighter weight weapons capable of covering all civilian and military, which in turn cover a more diversified approach to allow for crowd control/riot control up through modern warfare tactics and terrorist response situations. Milkor USA, Inc. provides a global solution, no matter how tough the situation!
